Wanted: comments on European Commission’s draft guidelines for ICPs

The UK’s Department for International Trade (‘DIT’)’s Export Control Joint Unit (‘ECJU’) has issued a notice to exporters to flag up the European Commission’s launch of an online survey on draft guidelines for internal compliance programmes (‘ICPs’). The draft guidance considers the ‘core elements’ that should be included in an ICP. The guidance, which is non-binding, is part of the Commission’s drive to establish effective ICP programmes as part of its proposal to modernise dual-use export controls.

Comments can be submitted to the Commission via its online survey. The closing date for comments is 15 November 2018.
