EU updates sanctions on North Korea, Libya and Iraq
On 24 September, the EU Council updated its sanctions on North Korea (‘DPRK’), Libya and Iraq.
- Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/1284 amended the listing of one vessel now believed to be DPRK-flagged to prohibit its entry to ports.
- Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/1285 listed five persons subject to restrictive measures imposed in connection with human trafficking in Libya.
- Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/1286 removed two entities from the list of bodies or entities of the previous government of Iraq subject to asset freezes, to align EU policy with a decision by the Sanctions Committee of the United Nations Security Council (‘UNSC’) on 19 September.
