EU Commission presents proposals for 12th package of Russia sanctions
New listings of ‘actors from the Russian military, defence and IT sectors,’ as well as a tightening of the oil price cap and further efforts to counter circumvention are amongst proposals submitted by the European Commission to the EU Council, for the 12th package of sanctions against Russia.
So reports a briefing by the EU Delegation to Ukraine, 15 October, which added that the new package would include measures that ‘target those who have orchestrated the recent illegal so-called “elections” in the territories of Ukraine that Russia has temporarily occupied, those responsible for the forced “re-education” of Ukrainian children and actors spreading disinformation and propaganda in support of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.’
