China imposes export controls on aviation and space technology and components
China announced export controls on aviation and aerospace technology and components, saying it was taking action ‘in order to safeguard national security and interests and fulfill international obligations such as non-proliferation.’
In a statement translated from Mandarin, the Ministry of Commerce (‘MOFCOM’) said that from 1 July, ‘Equipment, software and technology related to the manufacturing of aerospace structures and engines,’ cannot be exported without permission.
‘Tools, dyes, fixtures and other process equipment specially designed for superplastic forming/diffusion bonding of titanium, aluminum and their alloys’ used to manufacture aircraft and spacecraft structures, engines or components will also be restricted for export, including software and related technologies.
