Maldives to ban Israeli passport holders from entry in protest over Gaza war
On Sunday, the government of Indian Ocean nation and the smallest country in Asia, the Maldives announced a ban on all Israeli passport holders. The decision was announced by President Mohammed Muizu’s office citing the ongoing Israeli actions in Gaza. Following the ban issued by Maldives, the Israeli government has urged its citizens in the island nation as soon as they are able.
The Maldives joins the following countries in banning Israeli passport holders: Algeria, Bangladesh, Brunei, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Yemen.
