Up 30% in two years! EU Trade Compliance Directors leading pay scales

Compensation for Trade Compliance Directors working for EU-based companies or in the EU has shot ahead of that for those in the US over the past two years. This is among eye-catching findings of analysis carried out by WorldECR’s sister journal, Export Compliance Manager, based on a recent salary survey from leading US recruiter Gateway Recruiting.

According to the survey, average salaries at Director level in the EU topped $201k, overtaking those of US West-Coast-based leaders on an average of $199,500.

It was not such good news for Asia-based Trade Compliance Directors, however, who saw their average earnings take a hit between 2020 and 2022, falling from an average of $195,000 at the start of the period to $153,000 at the end.
