Livestock vessel banned entry to Irish port due to Russia link
A ship that transports livestock has been denied entry to Ireland to pick up cattle because it was classed by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, which is subject to EU sanctions.
The Antigua Barbuda-flagged Sarah M arrived at Greenore Port on Ireland’s northeast coast, 30 April, to load cattle for export. But it was refused entry after its registration status was noted, the Maritime News website reported, 7 May. ‘Currently, the vessel is awaiting new orders after being barred from entering Ireland,’ the website reported.
