Russia: developing sanctions counter-measures to protect defence industry

New measures would ensure that there were no disruptions to the execution of state orders for defence products.

Russian news agency Interfax reports that the country has developed measures in anticipation of further sanctions that would impact upon its defence industry.

The agency says that Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov recently told President Putin that he would soon be providing proposals for measures which would ensure that there were no disruptions to the execution of state orders for defence products.

Borisov, Interfax reports, said that he would also be reporting on the implementation of import substitution programmes, made necessary by the squeeze in supply of components from Ukraine, and EU and NATO countries.
