Ukraine introduces e-licensing in state export control system
The State Export Control Service of Ukraine is preparing to introduce e-licensing in its state export control system (according to Interfax-Ukraine). The reform has been made under the Export Control and Related Border Security (‘EXBS’) Program, a US Department of State initiative that helps countries develop and improve their strategic trade and related border control systems to prevent the ‘authorization of transfers to end-uses and end-users of proliferation concern’ and to stop illicit transfers at the border.
The e-licensing is part of an ongoing package of reforms undertaken by the government of Ukraine with the assistance of the EU to bring Ukraine’s regulatory and legal framework in line with the EU standards.
